What to Expect

These gatherings aren't workshops or networking events. They're structured conversations where nonprofit professionals at all career stages can talk openly about what's actually happening in their work. We discuss the challenges that don't make it into job descriptions: managing up when you disagree with leadership, understanding how funding decisions really get made, figuring out if you're being underpaid, navigating organizational politics without losing yourself, and determining whether this sector is where you want to build your career.

Each month focuses on a specific topic, but the conversation goes where it needs to go. Someone might share a situation they're working through, and the group problem-solves together. We learn from each other's experiences across different types of organizations and roles.

Whether you've been in the sector for ten years or you're trying to figure out if nonprofit work is right for you, you're welcome at the table.

Who Comes to These Gatherings

Program managers trying to figure out how to advocate for their teams. Development directors navigating donor relationships. Executive directors who need space to think through decisions with people who understand the weight of the role. Recent graduates wondering if they made the right career choice. Mid-career professionals considering their next move. People from large established nonprofits and people from small scrappy organizations. Anyone doing nonprofit work in North Texas who wants to understand it better.

Logistics

Meetings typically run 90 minutes. We meet in-person, once a month at various nonprofit locations across the DFW metroplex from 9 am - 10:30 am.

Coffee. Conversation. Connection. Come when you can, miss when you can't. No one's taking attendance.

"Collaboration is essential to building the shared impact of the nonprofit sector."
